Match Preview: West Ham vs Nottingham Forest (Saturday, 25th February 2023, 15:00)
Our Expert: @PuntersCorner
13th place plays 18th place this weekend in East London as West Ham host Nottingham Forest in what looks to be a big six-pointer in the relegation battle this season.
One man who has been brilliant for Forest this season is Morgan Gibbs-White.
Gibbs-White has been turning out many impressive performances in recent months and has had many people in the media suggest he deserves a maiden call up to the England squad.
Gibbs-White is a very dynamic attacking midfield and looks to get a lot of shots off whether it be from distance or when he’s in the box.
The former wolves man has hit 2+ shots in 10 of his last 11 games, with the only match he didn’t;t his this line being the match against Manchester City last week.
Betfair/Paddypower and SkyBet are both offering 4/5 for 2 shots which looks like a nice angle given his recent stats and the opposition he is against.
👉 Best Bet: Morgan Gibbs-White Over 1.5 Shots @ 1.80 (SkyBet)
Match Preview: Westerlo vs Union Saint-Gilloise (Saturday, 25th February 2023, 19:45)
Our Expert: @BelgiumBets
Westerlo had a good 1-0 win over Sint Truiden last weekend. Although it may seem like a scrappy win on paper, it was actually a wide-open match with many good chances. Unfortunately for Sint Truiden, they received a red card and had to lock down the game.
At home, Westerlo have recently been involved in high-scoring games. In their last eight home games, there were at least 37 goals scored, which averages to 4.63 goals per game. The only game in those eight that didn't have many goals was against KV Mechelen, who didn't create much in terms of offense. All the other games were against teams that could also create chances, resulting in a lot of goals at both ends. As they say, it takes two to tango!
Union are a team that can score three goals on their own when they are having a good day. They recently lost in a crazy game against Standard (2-4), which was their first loss since September. Therefore, they will be eager to bounce back in this game. Although Union have had a few low-scoring games on the road, they were against stubborn teams like Charleroi, Club, and Cercle Brugge. Westerlo will be a different opponent, as they like to play their own game at home while also allowing the opponent to play their game.
Union got influential midfielder Lazare back from suspension, while striker Yorbe Vertessen and midfielder Teuma left the pitch with injuries against Standard. However, things didn't look too bad, so there's hope they will recover in time for this game.
Since the 19-20 season, Union have played four times at Westerlo's ground, and all four games resulted in at least three goals. Union managed to score two goals in each of those games.
👉 Best Bet: Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.88 (Unibet)
Match Preview: Lecce vs Sassuolo (Saturday, 25th February 2023, 19:45)
Our Expert: Tom Winch (@WinchySFP)
Serie A’s Saturday night clash is contested between Lecce and Sassuolo at Stadio Via del Mare. The hosts have lost just twice in 11 outings whilst Sassuolo have picked up maximum points just twice in seven since the return.
Marco Baroni’s side have a terrific record at home when it comes to both sides finding the back of the net. All 11 sides who have visited the Southeast of Italy managed to get themselves on the scoresheet. Juventus are the only side to depart with a clean sheet.
You could say Sassuolo’s best form of defence is attack, they’ve failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their previous eight away trips. Despite sitting in 15th, only one side in the bottom half has scored more goals than them.
Since the return, Alessio Dionisi’s side have played four times away from home and on each occasion BTTS has cashed. They’ll arrive here with plenty of confidence in regards to getting on the scoresheet.
With Lecce’s impressive BTTS record in-front of the home fans and Sassuolo’s 100% record since the turn of the year, I expect both sides to find the back of the net once again here.
👉 Best Bet: Both Teams To Score @ 1.83 (Paddy Power/Betfair)
Match Preview: Birmingham vs Luton (Saturday, 25th February 2023, 15:00)
Our Expert: James (@MaccasValueBets)
Birmingham are set to face Luton on Saturday in a game that could be pivotal for the Blues as they hope to move further away from the bottom three. Likewise, this is an equally or even more important game for Luton, who are currently 6th in the Championship. A win is much needed for them to remain in contention for the promotion playoffs.
Luton's last 12 out of 13 league games have seen four or more cards, with an average of 5 cards per game. The last three games have seen a total of 6 red cards!
Birmingham, on the other hand, are averaging 3.9 match cards per game, with 2.3 for and 1.6 against. However, only 5 out of 10 of those games have seen four or more cards.
The referee appointed for this game is David Webb, who is known to be a bit more lenient than other referees. However, I feel that this is a game that could easily spill over, considering what a win means for both teams.
The best bet for this game is Over 0.5 First Half Cards & Over 1.5 Second Half cards @ 2.05 (William Hill). Please choose booking points via the bet builder. The bet is only 1.80 on Bet365, and I disagree with William Hill pricing this odds against.
If you fancy longer odds, O1.5 each and a first half card is 3.25 on Hills. If you don't have access to William Hill, then Over 3.5 Cards on Bet365 is 1.80. Hills are offering the same price for this and it seems like a decent play.
👉Best bet: Over 0.5 First Half Cards & Over 1.5 Second Half Cards @ 2.05(William Hill)
👉Longer odds bet: 0.5 First Half Cards & Over 1.5 Cards Each @ 3.25 (William Hill)
Match Preview: West Brom vs Middlesbrough (Saturday, 25th February 2023, 15:00)
Our Expert: Pete (@Pete_Tscherewik)
West Brom host Middlesbrough at The Hawthorns on Saturday and Michael Carrick’s side come into it as the red hot form side of the Championship.
Boro have won each of their last five league matches and have scored 24 in their last last 10 games, comfortably more than any other side in the division.
West Brom on the other hand only have one win in their last five and have struggled for form of late. However, Slaven Bilic’s are unbeaten in their last seven games at home (six wins, one draw).
For that reason, siding with Middlesbrough to win or draw under double chance offers more appeal than the outright win to play it safer. Boro have only failed to score in one of their last 16 league matches and adding them to score boosts the price nicely here.
👉 Best Bet: Middlesbrough Double Chance & Over 0 Goals @ 1.80 (Bet 365)
Match Preview: Barrow vs Stockport (Saturday, 25th February 2023, 15:00)
Our Expert: @TipsterJWins
For this week's best bet, we are heading to the fourth tier of English football where the inform Stockport travel to Barrow.
Ante-Post title favourites Stockport did not start the season as many would have expected, but over the past couple months, they continue to climb the table. For a bit of perspective, they currently occupy 4th in League Two, but no team has accumulated more points than them over the last 20 games (42pts). A win here would make it 6 league wins on the bounce and edge them even closer to the automatic promotion places.
Looking at the hosts Barrow, they seemed to have the opposite season to Stockport. After a solid start to the campaign, they have slipped down to 12th in the division. They have only won once in their last 7 games, and only last-placed Rochdale have gathered less points than Barrow over the last 15 games (13pts).
I am happy to side with the inform away side here at even money. They should have too much for the hosts who are struggling on all fronts.
👉 Best Bet: Stockport To Win @ 2.00 (Bet 365)
Match Preview: Empoli vs Napoli (Saturday, 25th February 2023, 17:00)
Our Expert: Scott - @scottythorn21
Napoli have been in fine form this season and it now looks as though it’s a question of when rather than if they will win the Scudetto. The side from Southern Italy also look destined for the quarter-finals of the Champions League. There is a growing confidence around the city and they should beat an Empoli side who are stranded in midtable quite comfortably.
Spalletti’s side have been leading eight of their last nine matches in all competitions at half time. This bet has landed in seven of those matches due to Napoli squandering the lead against Cremonese in the Coppa Italia.
Empoli have led just one of their last six matches at half time. A slow start against one of the hottest sides in European will make it difficult to get back in the game.
Napoli are averaging 2.3 goals per game in their last 10 matches. Their opponents are averaging 0.5. We are banking on them making a fast start here and taking a lead into the half time break. They have waited far too long to win Serie A so complacency shouldn’t become an issue.
The 2.20 on Bet 365 is above the market average and looks a good bet.
👉 Best Bet: Napoli HT/FT @ 2.20 (Bet 365)
