Match Preview: Bournemouth vs Burnley (Saturday, 28th October 2023, 15:00)
Our Expert: @scottythorn21
This a huge Premier League clash and it could spell the end of Andoni Iraola’s tenure at Bournemouth. He arrived from Spain with a sterling reputation but he has endured a nightmare start in England despite his exploits with Rayo Vallecano. The decision to sack Gary O’Neil was a questionable one and a winless start to the season has done very little to justify that decision.
Burnley have also had a tough start to the campaign. They were the runaway winners of the Championship last season but Vincent Kompany is still waiting to see his team strut their best stuff in the top flight.
Bournemouth are the most tackled team in the division thus far. Their opponents are averaging 22.67 tackles per game so far. Tottenham ranks 2nd in terms of most tackles against with 21.25. The average amount of tackles made by a team per match this season is 17.26.
Full-backs have made plenty of tackles against the Cherries in recent matches and I’m backing Charlie Taylor to make 3 here. He is averaging 2.3 tackles per Premier League game this season and had played the full 90 in all of the games he has featured in.
He is 6/5 to make 3 successful tackles and the last two right-backs in a back four in the Premier League have hit this mark against Bournemouth.
👉 Best Bet: Charlie Taylor 3+ tackles @ 6/5 Sky Bet
Match Preview: West Ham vs Everton (Sunday, 29th October 2023, 13:00)
Our Expert: @ scottythorn21
West Ham’s humbling defeat at the hands of Aston Villa last week saw them plummet in the Premier League table. They need to return to winning ways here in order to make strides towards the European places. The Hammers won this fixture 2-0 last season and have won three of their last four matches against Everton.
Everton were beaten at Anfield last weekend after they were reduced to 10 men in the first half of the match. Scoring goals has been a real problem for Sean Dyche’s side throughout the early stages of this season. The Toffees are just three points above the drop zone and they look set for another long season. Surprisingly, Everton ranks highly in non-penalty xG with 17.66; the 5th highest in the league. Making the most of those chances is proving to be the issue.
Everton have been direct in their approach and this has led to a number of aerial duels for opposing centre-backs. West Ham aren’t ones to shy away from the physical side of the game and I’m expecting Kurt Zouma to win more than his fair share of aerial duels as we follow on from a successful angle in last week’s newsletter.
Everton’s matches have seen an average of 35.11 aerial duels this season, while West Ham’s have seen 31.22. Both are well above the league average of 26.25. Zouma won 3 of his 5 aerial duels last weekend despite the Hammers’ taking on a Villa side whose matches average the 3rd fewest aerial duels in the league. Zouma won 6 aerial duels in this fixture last season.
In last week’s win over Everton, Liverpool’s centre-backs combined to win 19 aerial duels so I’m backing Zouma to 4+ at 5/4 with Sky Bet.
👉 Best Bet: Kurt Zouma to win 4+ aerial duels @ 5/4 Sky Bet
Match Preview: Tyson Fury vs Ngannou (Saturday, 28th October 2023, 22:00)
Our Expert: @peteryan04
Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou will square off in a boxing ring in Saudi Arabia on Saturday. There is a lot of intrigue around the contest as both men are heavy hitters and possess the power to shut their opponent's lights out. It will be an entertaining night in Saudi Arabia and the ultimate crossover between MMA and boxing.
Fury is one of the best heavyweights to compete in boxing and is currently the WBC heavyweight champion. The last time he was in the ring was against Derek Chisora, where he put on a dominant display in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He has never lost as a professional, and his skills inside the ring are sensational. He's got quick hands, incredible power, and a brilliant fight IQ. He will attempt to make it look easy against Ngannou, as he has more experience as a boxer and won't want to get embarrassed by an MMA fighter. He will fight Oleksandr Usyk in a mega-unification clash in December, but he mustn't overlook Ngannou because of his earth-shattering power.
Ngannou is an exceptional athlete and is an incredible fighter. He made his name by putting on some phenomenal performances in MMA. He competed under the UFC banner for most of his career and even won the UFC heavyweight championship. There was a lot of coverage when he decided to leave the UFC, as one of the main reasons for his departure was to pursue big boxing fights. It is safe to say it doesn't get much more prominent than Fury, as he is one of the most famous athletes on the planet. Ngannou will be looking to shock the world and cause the biggest upset in boxing history.
Looking at the fight from a betting perspective, Fury enters the contest as a massive favourite at 1/25 and the Ngannou as a 9/1 underdog. It is essential to remember that the battle is a showcase rather than a fight, which means we could see Ngannou get a couple of rounds. Ultimately, Fury possesses the skills to end Ngannou's night relatively quickly.
👉 Best Bet: The fight goes over five rounds- 11/10
👉 Value Bet: Tyson Fury to win and round 7 to start- 21/10
