Match Preview: Real Madrid vs Barcelona (2nd March 2023, 20:00)

El Clasico always captures the interest of people around the world and tonight’s is no different. The two giants of Spanish football are having contrasting campaigns. Barcelona are leading the charge for the league title and Real Madrid face an uphill battle to retain their domestic crown. However, Ancelotti’s men have fared much better in Europe. The Madridista’s are still dreaming of a 15th Champions League triumph while Xavi’s men have been dumped out of both the Champions League and the Europa League this season.
Barcelona’s seven point stranglehold on La Liga means that Real would love to dump them out of the Copa Del Rey here. The Catalans already won the Super Cup in January by beating Real 3-1 in January. Madrid will want to limit the amount of silverware on offer for the great rivals.
Bet 1:
Nacho Fernandez looks set to start at left-back for Real Madrid here. He is averaging 1.5 fouls per 90 minutes played as a full-back this season. He was also booked after making two fouls in Real Madrid’s last match against their neighbours Atletico. Nacho was brought on in the 72nd minute in last month’s El Classico. He made two fouls in the limited time he was on the pitch.
Real Madrid are the side who make the fewest fouls in La Liga but this tends to go out of the window when they take on Barcelona. The crowd at the Bernabeu will be baying for blood and will be hoping their side get stuck in here.
Barcelona have a number of pacey players who like to dribble with the ball; particularly in the wide areas. Nacho is likely to be directly up against Raphinha here. The Brazilian possesses a lot of flair and is capable of forcing a foul from our man.
The 2.50 on offer with Unibet is a generous price. The same bet is priced at 2.10 with Betfair and Paddy Power.
Bet: Nacho To Make Over 1.5 Fouls @ 2.50 (Unibet)
Bet 2:
Another nice price disparity is Barcelona O1.5 Offsides.
Bet365 offering: 1.53
Unibet offering: 1.75
That’s a 14% odds increase and one we’re very happy to take.
Barcelona have been averaging 2.74 offsides in their last 20 games. They got 5 against Sociedad in their last Copa Del Rey Fixture.
This led me to look into their offsides across cup competitions. In their past 10 cup competitions they have averaged 3.22 offsides, with the suggested bet anding in 9 of those 10 games.
Barcelona faced off against Madrid in January in the the SuperCup and picked up 2 offsides and 4 the time before that in October.
Bet: Barcelona Over 1.5 Offsides @ 1.75 (Unibet)
