Match Preview: Villa v Liverpool (Monday, 26 Dec 2022, 17:30)
Our Expert: Scott Thornton (@Scottythorn21)
This will be Emery’s fourth game in charge of Aston Villa. He has impressed in his short tenure so far. Winning both of his league games and losing only in the League Cup.
Emery’s sides play with a high line and this often leads to the opposition being caught offside. He coached Villareal 13 times this season and their opponents averaged 3.56 offsides per game over that period.
Liverpool are averaging 2.07 offsides per game in the league this season. They were caught offside 3 times during their League Cup meeting with Man City. Darwin Nunez is set to start up front again. He is the main culprit for Liverpool when it comes to offsides.

Match Preview: Arsenal v West Ham (Monday, 26 Dec 2022, 20:00)
Our Expert: Scott Thornton (@Scottythorn21)
Arsenal return to action against West Ham and will be looking to pick up where they left off. Arteta’s men were the early pace setters in the league. They are controlled when in possession and they seldom put the ball out of play with a stray pass.
West Ham struggled in the first half of the season. Their defensive line is notably deeper than last season. They are also allowing 18.37 opposition passes per defensive action. This is much more than last season and only Bournemouth allow more in the league (18.58).
This should mean that Arsenal have sustained periods of possession where the ball remains in play. The Gunners’ league matches at the Emirates are averaging 34 throws per game this season. Their last 5 matches where they have been similarly priced to win have seen 31 an average of 31 throws per game. West Ham’s last 5 matches at similar odds have seen an average of 31.6.

Match Preview: Southampton v Brighton (Monday, 26 Dec 2022, 15:00)
Our Expert: James (Macca) (@Maccasvaluebets)
When Southampton host Brighton on Monday, they will be attempting to escape the Premier League's relegation zone.
Southampton has the poorest home record in the Premier League with only six points this year. On the other hand, only Leicester and Arsenal have scored more than Brighton away from home in the English top division so far this season. The Saints have been defeated in their previous three games and the pressure is starting to set in.
Diciplinary wise, Southampton's games this season have been pretty even with both themselves and their opponents seeing 1.71 cards on average per game. When filtering this data to their home games only, it's still a level playing field with both for and against tallying 1.43 cards per game.Things are quite the opposite if we take a look at Brighton's data. Brighton have been very clean this season averaging a mere 1.36 cards per game. The same can't be said for their opponents drawing 2.57 cards on average per game. (1.78 for fouls and 0.79 for off the ball incidents - both 2nd highest in the EPL) This trend follows suit in their away fixtures too.
Brighton's last two fixtures before we took a break for the World Cup saw Villa pick up 7 yellows and Wolves pick up 2 Yellows and 2 Red cards.

(We only lose here if Brighton get the most cards. We get our stake refunded to us if its level on cards so I'm quite happy with this line)
